John Paul II's
Theology of the Body
for Everyone
The Theology of the Body developed by Pope John Paul II reveals the meaning of our creation in the Image of God. Not only is each individual made in the image of God as a reasoning, loving person, but the gifts of self made in marriage and consecrated celibacy image the Holy Trinity, the Community of total gift and response.

Understanding the profound implications of the Gift requires a new language worked out by John Paul and presented now in a study guide, A New Language. In four seasons of six sessions each, A New Language takes participants through the Scripture-based Theology of the Body, a joyful understanding of marriage, sexuality, consecrated celibacy, and single fidelity. It provides guidance to and appreciation of all of the Catholic Church's traditional teaching and leads participants to a fuller realization of their sacred calling.
"The body and it alone is capable of making visible what is invisible: the spiritual and divine. It was created to transfer into the visible world the mystery hidden since time immemorial in God, and thus be a sign of it. With this consciousness of the meaning of his own body, man, as male and female, enters the world as a subject of truth and love." Pope John Paul II (Theology of the Body, February 20, 1980)
Information about the A New Language program can be obtained by contacting TOBStudy@imagodei-tob.org.
